With a Renaissance flair, this lovely gold-tone decorative locket has two pieces. The top is a bar pin that allows the locket to dangle. Easily removed, the bar pin can be worn separately with a different pendant or charm, and the locket can be worn as a pendant (see pictures).
On the back of the bar pin are the script letters, “LR” for Lady Remington, a brand of jewelry sold at home parties or in a direct sales fashion. The company was in business from l946 to 2004.
The bar pin alone measures 1.75” long and 3/8” tall. The oval locket as a pendant measures 2” long and 1” wide, and as a locket brooch it measures 2.25 long and 1.75” wide. Inside, the locket are two pictures areas which allow for a picture 1 x .75”, Overall the brooch/pendant is in very good to excellent vintage condition, with few signs of wear.
In an era of digital pictures, this charming locket brooch speaks to different times when a cherished photo of a loved one was often worn close to the heart. It’s a perfect self gift, mother’s day present, or anniversary. Valentine’s Day, or wedding brooch.
